CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF NOVEMBER 21, 2006 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: Tom Hendrix, Fire Chief <br />SUBJECT: Consider Approval of Attached Salary Resolution and Job <br />Description For Emergency Services Coordinator <br />DATE: November 16, 2006 <br />ITEM #7 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The 2006-07 budget, approved on June 20, 2006, includes funding for the new position of <br />Emergency Services Coordinator, as well as approval for recruitment and ratification of this new <br />position. This is a non -safety position and the salary range is $4,689 to $5,700 and the job <br />description, which has been approved by Human Resources, is attached. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />This position will be responsible for coordinating the City's disaster planning efforts under the <br />direction of the Fire Chief. Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list will <br />be established upon City Council approval. The candidate chosen will meet the education and <br />experience requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Funds for the position have been budgeted in the 2006-07 Fiscal Year from Account Number 100- <br />6090-6094-1010 (Salaries) and 100-6090-6094-1100 (Salary Related Benefits). <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve Resolution and the attached job description for <br />Emergency Services Coordinator. <br />Attachments: <br />Resolution <br />Emergency Services Coordinator Job Description <br />REVIEW TEAM ONLY (� <br />City Attorney: <br />Finance Director: IIS' <br />City Manager: OTHER: <br />
