CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF DECEMBER 19, 2006 <br />ITEM #17 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Eric Fraser, Water/Wastewater Utility Director <br />SUBJECT: Acceptance of a Temporary Easement from the City of San Bernardino <br />for a Groundwater Monitoring Well and Appurtenant Facilities <br />DATE: December 11, 2006 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As part of the City's continuing efforts to remediate and monitor perchlorate contamination in the <br />City's groundwater, the City has obtained approval from the City of San Bernardino for a <br />temporary easement to construct a groundwater monitoring well. <br />DISC USSI ON/ANALYSIS: <br />In order to proceed with construction of the groundwater monitoring well, the City Council must <br />formally accept the temporary easement that has been approved by the City of San Bernardino. <br />For this purposed, City staff has prepared the attached Resolution which accepts the temporary <br />easement. A copy of the grant of easement, legal description and site plan of the area are <br />attached to the proposed Resolution. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />No fiscal impact is anticipated from the City Council's acceptance of the approved temporary <br />easement from the City of San Bernardino. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the proposed Resolution to accept the approved <br />temporary easement from the City of San Bernardino to construct a groundwater monitoring well <br />and appurtenant facilities. <br />Attachments: Proposed resolution with attachments <br />
