FRASER, DIRECTOR OF WATER & WASTEWATER OPERATIONS <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF REQUEST FOR RECRUITMENT AND RATIFICATION OF <br />ONE EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT TO THE FULL-TIME POSITION OF <br />WATER UTILITY SUPERVISOR. <br />DATE: DECEMBER 11, 2006 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Water Utilities Supervisor in the Water/Wastewater Department retired in May, 2005 after 33 <br />years of service. The employee in this position is responsible for the supervision of the daily <br />operations and maintenance of the water distribution facilities and related water systems. The <br />salary range is $5100 — 6199 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />To meet the demands of the waterline replacement projects and the scheduling of the daily <br />operation maintenance and repairs of the City's water distribution system, an eligibility list needs <br />to be established in order to make a smooth transition with limited impacts on the level <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Sufficient funds are available in Capital Improvement Account 521-8100-8101-1010-0000-000 and <br />Water Salaries Related Benefits Account 521-8100-8101-1100-0000-000. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends Colton Utility Authority approval of the request for recruitment and ratification of <br />employee appointment to one full-time position of Water Utilities Supervisor in the Water and <br />Wastewater Department. <br />Prepared by: Mike Medina <br />REVIEW TEAM <br />City Attorney: <br />City Manager: <br />Finance DirlIector: <br />OTHER: U J(L O <br />He <br />
