MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURES FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF <br />DECEMBER 19, 2006. <br />Mayor Chastain asked the members present if there were any agenda items that were a conflict <br />of interest pursuant to CMC Section 2.04.030. None disclosed. <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS: <br />Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />• Presentation Laura Morales, resident and mother of a child with juvenile diabetes, <br />recognized and presented certificates of appreciation to CM Richard De <br />La Rosa, Family Services Supervisor Susan Rodriquez, and Police Chief <br />Ken Rulon, for their participation in the annual walk event for the Juvenile <br />Diabetes Research Foundation held at Prado Dam Regional Park. <br />• Presentation Janell Diederich, Representative for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, <br />recognized and presented certificates of appreciation to Doug Blinkinsop <br />and Fire Chief Tom Hendrix <br />Appeal — File Index Number DAP -000-639 <br />This was the Time And Place Fixed To Consider The Colton Planning Commission's <br />Denial Of A Request For Conditional Use Permit For The Sale Of Hard Liquor For Off - <br />Site Consumption At An Existing Service Station/Convenience Store Located At 420 <br />North La Cadena Drive — Apn No. 162-101-14; File Index Number Dap -000-639. <br />Mayor Chastain declares the Public Hearing "Open" <br />City clerk Barrera announced that the Affidavit of Publication is on file in the City Clerk's Office <br />and stated that no protests or objections were received. <br />Community Development Director Zamora presented for council consideration approval of <br />staffs recommendation to support the denial by the Planning Department and if overturned the <br />alternatives necessary. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Vic Patel, appellant, spoke in favor of liquor permit. <br />Gilbert Arrieta, spoke in favor of the Planning Commission decision to deny permit. <br />Motion/second by CM De La Rosa/Suchil to close public hearing.
