Staff requests amending the fiscal year 2006/2007 Capital Improvement Program to include the <br />proposed Freeway Ramp Improvement Project. Caltrans is in the process of drafting the joint <br />agreement for this project and has already commenced preparatory construction work needed for <br />these improvements. In order to maintain the project's momentum, staff requests the City Manager <br />be authorized to execute the final agreement and all related documents between the City of Colton <br />and Caltrans District 8 corresponding to the Freeway Ramp Improvement Project. The agreement <br />will commit both the City of Colton and Caltrans to share in fifty percent of the expenses for the <br />Freeway Ramp Improvement Project. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The City has unappropriated Host City Fee funds which can be used to finance the City's fifty <br />percent share of the Freeway Ramp Improvement Project. Staff requests a transfer from the 240 <br />Host City Fee revenue fund to expense account 450-0721-6940-3890, in the amount of $126,000, <br />be made to fund the Freeway Access Ramp Improvement Project. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />The proposed public improvements are Exempt under Section 15301 (c) of the California <br />Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST - Gift Disclosure Requirements <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff respectfully recommends the approval of the resolution amending the fiscal year 2006/2007 <br />Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to include the Freeway Ramp Improvement Project and <br />authorize the City Manager to execute the corresponding cost share agreement and all related <br />documents between the City of Colton and Caltrans District 8. <br />Attachment: <br />Exhibit `A' - Cost Estimate <br />Resolution <br />Prepared by: Amanda Rhinehart; Public Works Department <br />REVIEW TEAM ONLY j <br />City Attorney: l Finance Directorz)- <br />City Mana THER: <br />
