Section 18.24.120 of Chapter 18.24 of Title 18 of the Colton <br />Municipal Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br />"18.24.120 Parking requirements. <br />A. Specific Requirements. <br />1. For office uses and retail stores, one space shall be <br />provided for every two hundred fifty square feet of gross <br />floor area. For retail stores handling only durable or bulky <br />merchandise, one space shall be provided for every six <br />hundred square feet. <br />2. For automobile sales and rentals and repair shops, one <br />space shall be provided for every six hundred square feet of <br />gross floor area. <br />3. For manufacturing and industrial buildings, one space shall <br />be provided for every five hundred square feet of gross <br />floor area. <br />4. For warehouse and storage buildings, one space shall be <br />provided for every one thousand square feet of gross floor <br />area. <br />5. For miniwarehouses, one space shall be provided for very <br />three thousand five hundred square feet of gross floor area. <br />6. For storage yards, contractor and lumber yards and public <br />utility services, one space shall be provided for every five <br />hundred square feet of gross floor area, and one space shall <br />be provided for every two thousand square feet of open <br />land on the premises. <br />7. For eating and drinking establishments, including fast food <br />and drive-through establishments, one space shall be <br />provided for every one hundred square feet of gross floor <br />area, with a minimum of five spaces provided for each <br />establishment. <br />8. For medical offices, one space shall be provided for every <br />two hundred square feet of gross floor area. <br />9. For bowling alleys, three spaces shall be provided for each <br />alley, plus fifty percent of regular parking requirements for <br />all other uses associated with the alley. <br />B. General Requirements. <br />1. Parking spaces in commercial and industrial zones shall <br />have dimensions of not less than nine feet in width and <br />twenty feet in depth. In the case where the parking area <br />contains twenty or more spaces, twenty percent of the total <br />required number of spaces may be designed to <br />accommodate compact cars, with dimensions not less than <br />seven and one-half feet in width and fifteen feet in depth. <br />Handicapped stalls shall be provided as recommended by <br />the state code (two percent of the total required spaces). In <br />the case where a parking stall is adjoined on one or both <br />sides of its length by curb, fence, wall, partition, column, <br />post or similar obstruction, that is located less than four feet <br />from an access aisle measured along the length of the stall <br />or continues to form the end of an access aisle, it shall have <br />a minimum width of eleven and one-half feet. <br />2.
