CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF OCTOBER 2, 2007 <br />ITEM #4 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: JEANNETTE OLKO, ELECTRIC GENERAL MANAGER <br />SUBJECT: REQUEST RECRUITMENT AND RATIFICATION OF EMPLOYEE <br />APPOINTMENT TO THE FULL TIME POSITION OF LINE CREW <br />SUPERVISOR FOR THE COLTON ELECTRIC UTILITY <br />DATE: <br />SEPTEMBER 10, 2007 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In an effort to improve the operations of the Transmission and Distribution Division, the existing <br />two line crews will be split into three line crews to more easily perform daily maintenance and <br />upgrades to our electric system. The salary range for this position is $6,502 to $7,904 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The Electric Utility has one new Line Crew Supervisor position due to the reorganization of the <br />Transmission and Distribution Division. In order to maintain reliable service to our customers, the <br />Electric Utility is requesting to fill this opening. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The position was presented as part of the budget for FY 2007-2008 and is budgeted for in <br />Account Number 520-8000-8004-1010-580-000, Salaries Miscellaneous. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the City Council approve the recruitment and ratification of the position of Line <br />Crew Supervisor in the Electric Utility. <br />Prepared by: Lupe G.
