R-145-07 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF TWO APPLICATIONS FOR THE SAFE <br />ROUTES TO SCHOOLS GRANT PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, the Safe Route to Schools Program provides funds for safety <br />improvements near schools to encourage students to walk or bike to school; <br />WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) solicits Safe <br />Routes to Schools Grant Program projects from local agencies on an annual basis; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton is dedicated to improving the <br />street infrastructure. <br />BE IT NOW THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The City Council hereby authorizes the submittal of two Safe Routes to <br />Schools Grant Program applications for the seventh cycle. <br />2.
