R-149-07 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON TO HAVE A PUBLIC <br />PROCEEDING AS AN AGENDA ITEM DURING THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON TUESDAY <br />JANUARY 4, 2007 TO DISCUSS FUNDING OF FINANCIAL INCENTIVES FOR CUSTOMERS' <br />SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS AS REQUIRED BY SB -1. <br />WHEREAS, On August 21, 2006 the State of California approved SB -1, The <br />California Solar Initiative; and <br />WHEREAS, SB 1 requires the governing body of publicly owned electric utilities to <br />hold a public proceeding before January 1, 2008 to determine what additional funding, if any, is <br />necessary to provide the incentives to meet the utility's share of the statewide goals; and <br />WHEREAS, Colton Electric Utility is a publicly owned electric utility in the State of <br />California and the City Council of the City of Colton is the governing body; and <br />WHEREAS, To hold a public proceeding the City Council must resolve to hold such a <br />proceeding. <br />BE IT NOW THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Colton will hold a public proceeding <br />during the City Council of the City of Colton meeting on Tuesday December 4, 2007 to discuss <br />funding of financial incentives for customers' solar energy systems as required by SB -1. <br />SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. <br />SECTION 3.
