ITEM #9 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF DECEMBER 4, 2007 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: AMER JAKHER, P.E., PW DIRECTOR / CITY ENGINEER <br />SUBJECT: AUTHORIZE SOLICITATION OF BIDS FOR THE MAX LOFY PARK <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. <br />DATE: NOVEMBER 27, 2007 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Max Lofy Park is located between East D Street on the north and East E Street on the south. Max <br />Lofy Park is the home of the Ken Hubbs Field, which takes up the majority of the 0.69 acre park. <br />This park has a small picnic area and parking lot located adjacent to the field on the south side. <br />Council action on November 6, 2007, allocated $117,845 for the Max Lofy Park Improvements <br />Project. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The Max Lofy Park Improvement Project will provide the following improvements: installation of <br />curb, gutter, sidewalk, parking, pathways, and landscaping; Exhibit A, attached, identifies the <br />proposed improvements. Staff requests authorization to bid this project for construction. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />These funds were budgeted in account 450-0821-6987-3890, in the amount of $117,845. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />The proposed public improvements are Exempt under Section 15301 (c) of the California <br />Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Notice of Exemption will be filed to County of San Bernardino <br />prior to the construction of the identified project improvements. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: <br />Not applicable. <br />7/10/03 City Clerk's Office Cb <br />
