Cassel, Economic Development Director <br />ITEM #8 <br />SUBJECT: Consideration of Approval Request for Recruitment and Ratification of <br />Employee Appointment to the Full-time Position of Redevelopment <br />Project Manager 1/11 in the Economic Development Department. <br />DATE: <br />December 10, 2007 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Economic Development Department requests apps <br />position. The Redevelopment Project Manager will bE <br />Development Director to implement and manage various <br />$4552 to $5535 for a Redevelopment Project Manager I, <br />Project Manager II. <br />oval to fill a vacant Project Manager 1/11 <br />under the supervision of the Economic <br />projects as assigned. The salary range is <br />and $5704 to $6934 for a Redevelopment <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />The Economic Development Department assists the City of Colton in performing a variety of activities <br />connected with attracting new businesses to the city, implementing affordable housing programs, and <br />commercial redevelopment projects. <br />In order to maintain a professional level of service each of the above mentioned projects require, the <br />Economic Development Department requests to fill the vacancy as soon as possible. The department <br />plans to recruit for either a Redevelopment Project Manager I or Redevelopment Project Manager II <br />and hire an applicant at the appropriate level based on their qualifications. Given the special duties <br />and responsibilities of the position, an outside recruitment is necessary.
