CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF JANUARY 15, 2008 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: Jeannette Olko, Electric Utility General Manager <br />ITEM #5 <br />SUBJECT: Approve the Request for Recruitment and Ratification of Employee <br />Appointment to the Full -Time Position of Line Crew Supervisor for <br />the Electric Utility Department <br />DATE: <br />January 7, 2008 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Electric Utility Transmission and Distribution Division currently has two line crews to perform <br />daily maintenance and upgrades to our electric system. In an effort to improve the operations of <br />the Transmission and Distribution Division, the existing two line crews will be split into three line <br />crews. The salary range for this position is $6,502 to $7,904 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The Electric Utility has one vacant Line Crew Supervisor position due to the reorganization of the <br />Transmission and Distribution Division. In order to maintain reliable service to our customers, the <br />Electric Utility is requesting to fill this opening. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The position was presented as part of the budget for FY 2007-2008 and is budgeted for in <br />Account Number 520-8000-8004-1010-0580-000, Electric Department/Transmission & <br />Distribution Miscellaneous Salaries.
