CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 5, 2008 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: DILU DE ALWIS, FINANCE DIRECTOR Pte' <br />SUBJECT: AWARD BID FOR TWO FORD EXPLORERS TO FAIRVIEW FORD IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $41,596.08 <br />DATE: JANUARY 28, 2007 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />ITEM #7 <br />The Fire Department is requesting approval to replace two (2) 1997 Ford Crown Victoria staff <br />vehicles. One is assigned to the Fire Safety Specialist and the other to the City Emergency <br />Services Coordinator. Each of these cars has over 100,000 miles on them and is showing <br />considerable wear. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Diligent effort was made to solicit competitive proposals for two (2) 2008 Ford Explorers. On <br />December 5, 2007 the Request for Bids was distributed to 18 potential bidders via the City's online <br />bidding system: www.TheNetworkBidSvstem.com. <br />An electronic Bid Opening was held at 2:00 p.m. on December 19, 2007. Sealed (encrypted) bids <br />were received from the following: <br />1. Fairview Ford $38,588.00 <br />2. Theodore Robins Ford $38,828.30 <br />3. Redlands Ford $41,638.00 <br />4. Raceway Ford $42,146.00 <br />A bid abstract is attached showing prices quoted by each vendor and any exceptions noted. The <br />recommended vendor's price is high -lighted in Yellow (plus tax and tire fee). <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Funds for the two (2) Ford Explorers are budgeted for in Account 100-6090-6091-4910.
