EXHIBIT "A" <br />SCOPE OF MAINTENANCE SERVICES <br />Special Provisions as incorporated in the bid packet. <br />SPECIAL PROVISION <br />INTENT. The intent of the Tree Trimming contract is to secure Tree trimming contractors to provide <br />all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and services necessary for the maintenance of trees. The Tree <br />Trimming maintenance contractors will be required to effectively and efficiently complete, as a <br />minimum, all tasks described in the General Conditions of the Project Specification. <br />DEFINITIONS <br />A. Where "as directed", "as required", "as permitted", "approved", "acceptance", or <br />words of similar importance are used, it shall be understood that the direction, <br />requirement, permission, approval or acceptance of the P.W. Director/City Engineer is <br />intended unless otherwise stated. As used herein, "provide" shall be understood to mean <br />"provide complete", "in place", "this is", "furnish and install"; the work "site" as used <br />hereinafter shall be understood to mean the location receiving the service. The use of <br />the word "Director", shall be construed to mean the Director of Public Works or his <br />delegated representative(s). The use of the word "Contractor" shall be held to mean the <br />Contractor and/or any person employed by him and working under this contract. <br />B. The use of the words "shall" and "may" will be held to mean "mandatory" and <br />"permissive" respectively. The use of the words "his" or "him" shall be construed to mean <br />either gender, as appropriate. <br />C. Area Inspector shall mean the duly authorized representative of the P.W. Director/City <br />Engineer who shall monitor the Contractor's progress within the Grounds Maintenance <br />project area he/she is assigned to. <br />D. Trash and Litter shall mean any debris within the Grounds Maintenance project area <br />such as paper, can, bottles, limbs, rocks, animal feces, etc., which is not intended to be <br />present as part of the landscape. <br />Specifications for "Complete Trim" <br />A. All work shall be of the highest quality and performed in accordance with City <br />of Colton Standards. <br />A-1 <br />
