ITEM #21 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF AUGUST 19, 2008 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />FROM: MARITZA TAPIA, INTERIM PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: ACCEPT AND APPROVE RECORDATION OF GRANT DEED FOR <br />STREET IMPROVEMENT PURPOSES FROM PROPERTY OWNER <br />OF ASSESOR PARCEL NUMBERS (APN) 0164-161-06, 0164-161-07, <br />0164-161-26, 0164-161-30, ALONG FAIRWAY DRIVE BETWEEN <br />MOUNT VERNON AVENUE AND SPERRY DRIVE. <br />DATE: August 12, 2008 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Street improvements correspondent widening of Fairway Drive, along Fairway Drive between Auto <br />Plaza Drive and the city limits, are pending the dedication of the right of way by property owners <br />along Fairway Drive. The proposed street improvements along this portion of Fairway Drive <br />include installation of. new curb, gutter, sidewalk, and street widening. Fairway & Mt. Vernon <br />Associates, who will be developing a 38 -unit apartment complex along Fairway Drive have been <br />conditioned to dedicate a portion of the parcels, as identified in Exhibit B. Dedication of the <br />requested right-of-way will allow the City to obtain the ultimate right-of-way needed to install the <br />noted improvements along Fairway Drive. <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />The property owner at APNs 0164-161-06, 0164-161-07, 0164-161-26, 0164-161-30, Fairway & <br />Mt. Vernon Associates, has agreed to dedicate the necessary right-of-way at no cost to the City of <br />Colton. A signed copy of the grant deed is attached as Exhibit "A". The property owner has agreed <br />to dedicate the additional lands for public use in order to accommodate the installation of the <br />required street improvements. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />This action does not have an environmental impact. <br />
