Staff feels that keeping the existing units for an extended period of time, until the new units can be
delivered, is in the best interest of the City. Not keeping the units would result in the Electric Utility being
left without any digger -derrick line trucks to conduct its operations in the field until another vendor could
be found that has units available for rent. In addition, the SCAQMD, as part of Rule 1196, would also
have to approve the equipment proposed in a new lease or rental.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Funds will be included in the Electric Utility Transmission and Distribution Account Number
520-8000-8004-2420-0931-000 for FY 09/10.
Budget
Year -to -Date
Open Encumbrances
Available Funds
Expenditures
Will be included in
FY 09/10
FY09/ 10 Budget
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
None
CONFLICT OF INTEREST:
(Exact Company Name)
President: (Name & Title)
Contact: (Name)
Altec Capital.
Mandeep Hansi, President
Matthew Hadley
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends Council waive the formal bidding requirement, per Colton Municipal Code 3.08.140,
Section (e), and approve the continued month-to-month rental of two digger -derrick line trucks from
Altec Capital in an amount not -to -exceed $41,835.57, until the new digger derrick units are delivered.
Report prepared by: Rebecca Gallegos, Executive Assistant
REVIEW TEAM LY
City Attorney Finance Director:
City Manager: OTHER:
