Staff Report to the Mayor and City Council
Third Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with The Omega Group
March 2, 2010
Page 2
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
On September 4, 2007, Council action authorized the award of Professional Service Agreement
(Agreement) to The Omega Group to provide crime analysis software that worked in conjunction
with the Police Departments Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management System
(CAD/RMS). Since that date, two additional amendments have been authorized, the first
amendment action taken on June 30, 2008 and the second amendment action approved during the
February 17, 2009 Council meeting.
This third amendment allows for the replacement of outdated and no longer available,
Crime View Community, with the newer more user friendly version, Crimemapping, and the
added software for CrimeView Server at no additional cost. The funds for the purchase of this
system were encumbered in the first agreement of September 4, 2007, and remain unspent.
FISCAL IMPACTS
This action results in no additional expenditures. The project has been funded completely
through grant monies, which have been encumbered.
ALTERNATIVES
1. Provide alternative direction to staff.
ATTACHMENTS
Exhibit A — Third Amendment to PSA for The Omega Group
Exhibit B — Original Agreement along with the First and Second Amendments
