DATE: <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />PREPARED BY <br />SUBJECT: <br />STAFF REPORT <br />MAY 4, 2010 <br />MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />ROD FOSTER, CITY MANAGER <br />I <br />ITEM NO. <br />M <br />BILL SMITH, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY SERVICES <br />SET PUBLIC HEARING — COMMUNITY SERVICES D PARTMENT <br />MASTER FEE SCHEDULE AMENDMENT <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />It is recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution R -X9-10, setting a public hearing for <br />June 15, 2010 to hear public comment regarding proposed amendment to the Master Fee <br />Resolution for programs and services offered by the Community Services Department. <br />GOAL STATEMENT <br />The proposed action will support the City's goal to properly and timely review and adjust fees <br />for programs and services. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Community Services Department charges fees for many programs and services offered by <br />the department. The department reviews all fees annually to ensure that they are adjusted <br />properly to balance customer affordability, as well as fiscal responsibility in cost recovery. Upon <br />recent review, the department is proposing several adjustments to the Master Fee Resolution, <br />which staff intends to bring forward for City Council consideration at their regular meeting of <br />June 15, 2010. <br />ISSUES/ANALYSIS <br />City fee updates must be done in a Public Hearing format at an open meeting, and this fee <br />schedule will be brought forward by staff for City Council consideration on June 15, 2010. The <br />proposed fee schedule will be reviewed by the Recreation & Parks Commission at their meeting <br />of May 19, 2010. <br />FISCAL IMPACTS <br />There is no fiscal impact as the result of this proposed action. <br />ONTARIMN STUBBS\308995.2 <br />
