Staff Report to the Mayor and City Council <br />Subject: Annual Oracle Software Support Services <br />Date: June 15, 2010 <br />Page 2 <br />ISSUES/ANALYSIS <br />The current software support services agreement expires June 30, 2010. In order to continue the <br />support services without interruption, Oracle, Inc. requires notification from the City of our <br />intent to renew the services agreement before the expiration date. The cost for software support <br />services for FY2010/2011 is $52,561.27 and will be billed to the City quarterly. The form of <br />agreement will be a City of Colton Purchase Order. The purchase order and subsequent <br />payments will be issued after the July 1, 2010 from the FY2010/2011 budget. <br />FISCAL IMPACTS <br />Funds are included in the Electric Utility Administration Professional Services Budget, Account <br />Number 520-8000-8001-2350-0923-000 for FY 10/11. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />1. City Council may decide not to renew the support services agreement and instead pay for <br />updates as they are released and to pay for support services on a time and material basis. <br />This option will likely result in longer down time if we experience technical problems with <br />the software as clients with support service agreements will have priority over time and <br />material clients. <br />2. City Council may provide alternate direction to staff. <br />
