GOMEZ, CITY CLERK <br />SUBJECT: CERTIFICATION OF GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD <br />NOVEMBER 2, 2010, IN THE CITY OF COLTON <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />It is recommended that the City Council adopt the Resolution reciting the facts and declaring the <br />results of the November 2, 2010, General Municipal Election. <br />GOAL STATEMENT <br />The proposed action will support the City's goal to facilitate fair and transparent municipal <br />elections. <br />BACKGROUND <br />At the June 1, 2010 council meeting, the City Council approved Resolution No. R-29-10, Calling <br />and Giving Notice of the General Municipal Election to be held in the City of Colton, and the <br />election of certain officers of the City. <br />ISSUES/ANALYSIS <br />The City Council by Resolution No. R-29-10, authorized the county election department of the <br />County of San Bernardino to canvass the returns of the General Municipal Election. The canvass <br />was completed on November 29, 2010. <br />FISCAL IMPACTS <br />The estimated cost from the Registrar of Voters is no more than $49,000. The Election Expense <br />Account No. 100-6010-2401 has $49,000 budgeted.
