CITY Of COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT (CONTINUED) <br />'rOR COUNCIL MEETING 0 February 2, 1993 <br />SUBJECT: Award of contract to Jaguar/MicroAge for Office <br />Automation - Local Area Network <br />With the installation of new equipment and unfamiliar operation <br />procedures, situations will arise that will need professional <br />solutions. The recommended vendor will provide the needed technical <br />-assistance during installation and subsequent training of City <br />personnel. 'The,recommended vendor can also supply the necessary <br />recommended.application,-software, word-processing, spreadsheet, <br />graphics and electronic mail. <br />In having the recommended vendor provide the software, the vendor can <br />provide technical assistance and guidance which would not otherwise <br />be available to the City during the installation and setup of the <br />local area network. <br />The recommended local area network will provide flexibility so that <br />the City's future computer needs can be fulfilled-, <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />'The costs for the computer hardware, i.e., file server, work <br />stations, cabling -and printers, and training associated with these <br />items will be $66,366.00. <br />The costs for the installation, configuration and user training of <br />the application software will be $14,000.00. <br />Total cost will be $80,366.00. <br />The total cost'for the LAN system within the police department will <br />be from its narcotic Asset Seizure account. No monies for the <br />purchase and installation of this system in the police department <br />will be incurred by any other funds. <br />RECOMMENDATIO <br />Staff recommends the contract be awarded to Jaguar/MicrdAge for <br />office automation - Local'Area Network. <br />Report prepared by R.
