LIBRARY BRANCH COORDINATOR <br />DEFINITION <br />City of Colton <br />Under direction, supervise clerical staff; schedules and <br />coordinates volunteer programs; maintains liaison with shut-in <br />service; maintains personnel records; may coordinate a small branch <br />facility; and does other related work as required. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES <br />Schedules, trains, and supervises clerical and page staff; assists <br />in selection of same; supervises and coordinates volunteers, <br />training them in their duties; schedules and maintains deposit <br />collections in convalescent homes and hospitals; maintains sick <br />leave, vacation and time sheet records; maintains all financial <br />records and provides liaison with major vendors; makes <br />recommendations for selection of materials; performs simple <br />reference work; assists and advises patrons in making effective use <br />of the library; maintains liaison with community groups and other <br />libraries in field of interest. <br />DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS <br />Ability To• <br />Establish and maintain effective cooperative relationships <br />with the public and fellow employees; <br />Plan and supervise the work of others; <br />Devise and maintain records, including those of a confidential <br />nature; <br />Represent the library in community groups and with other <br />professional organizations. <br />Experience• <br />Two years of library experience.
