CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of January 5, 1993 <br />TO: HONORABLE OR AND CITY COUNCIL, <br />DATE: December 22, 1992 <br />FROM: <br />ity anag <br />SUBJECT: Report on Proposed Demolition of the Structures Located at 801 North Rancho <br />1025-1037 North Mt Vernon Avenue Ave. and 1001, <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The structures located at the aforementioned addresses have been determined to be unfit for human <br />under the provisions of the State Housing Code act, Uniform Br�ildin9 Code and Cit Ordinance occupancy <br />i Colton. All of the necessary attempts to contact the property owners regarding the correction <br />City nance of the City <br />violations that have resulted in these structures condemnations have been made to no avail. sof the <br />It is , therefore, necessary that these conditions be abated by the demolition of the buildings in accordance with <br />the property procedures and permits from the Community Development Departmentl <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The property owners time for appeal per Uniform Building Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, <br />1988 Edition Chapter 5, Section 101 through 504, has lapsed. Therefore, in order to commence with the <br />removal of the structures, the City should proceed with obtaining responsible bids to bring before the council <br />for the demolition of the structures. The bid process which involves advertising, a pre-bid conference, acce i <br />bids and awarding a bid takes approximately six (6) weeks. pt ng <br />FISCAL ENIPACT: <br />The fiscal impact is unknown at the present time. The fiscal impact will be known upon the award of the bid <br />to demolish the buildings. The building at 801 N.
