JOHNSON j�Qr <br />Person v <br />nel Director <br />SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF THE MEMORANDUM OF ERSTANDING O FOR <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The last General Employees Unit MOU expired on December 31, 1992. We have been in meet and confer <br />with SBPEA representatives since January 27, 1993 and have tentative y agreed to a successor MOU which <br />would be in effect through December 31, 1993. The employees ratified the MOU at a meeting on June 22, <br />1993. To become effective, the MOU must also be approved by Council. Below is a summary of the new <br />terms of the proposed MOU. <br />1. TERM - l year <br />2. SALARIES - no change <br />3. TUITION REIMBURSEMENT - increase annual maximun from $1000 to $1500 and books <br />reimbursement from 50% to 100%. <br />4. TERM LIFE INSURANCE - increase from $16,500 to $50,000. <br />5. OPTICAL PLAN - provide equivalent coverage to Managemen /Con tident] a] unit. <br />6, SICK LEAVE PAYOFF increase from 50% to 75% for employees taking service retirement after <br />20 years of service. <br />7. LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE -increase monthly base salary which maximum payments <br />of 66 2/3% of base salary are based on from $4.500 to $6000 and change elimination period from 30 <br />days or the expiration of sick leave, whichever is later, to 30 days with no requirement to use all sick <br />leave before benefits begin. <br />- at, 4W *' .6' , 11 <br />
