ACEVEDO V' <br />Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for the Lease Purchase of a Recycling Vehicle to Carmenita Truck Center in the <br />Amount of $94,123.80. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On June 1, 1993, General Services received a requisition from Public Works for the lease purchase of a <br />recycling truck. We advertised for quotations by posting on June 2, 1993. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Bid opening was held at 2:00 P.M., June 14, 1993 in the Corporate Yard Conference Room. We received bids <br />from four vendors on this requirement. A Bid Analysis is attached showing the total bid price, the make of <br />truck quoted, the delivery time and simple interest rate. Since this is a lease purchase, we also show the 10 <br />semi-annual payments required and the total cost of the vehicle. This total figure is underlined showing the <br />recommended vendor. The lowest bid was not accepted because of two major deviations. They quoted a <br />standard cab versus a cab -over model and they bid an International engine versus the Caterpillar engine <br />specified. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council award the bid to Carmenita Truck Center in the amount of $94,123.80. <br />Report prepared by Ken Peterson, General Service Manager. <br />City Manager concurrence: <br />Attachments: $id Analysis <br />Page I of 1 Item No. 3 <br />
