JOHNSON <br />Personnel Director O <br />SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) FOR <br />EMPLOYEES WORKING IN JOB CLASSIFICATIONS IN THE <br />MANAGEMENT/CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES UNIT OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />REPRESENTED BY SAN BERNARDINO PUBLIC EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION <br />SB( PEA)• <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The last Management/Confidential Employees Unit MOU expired on December 21, 1992. We have been in <br />meet and confer with SBPEA representatives since January 27, 1993 and have tentatively agreed to a successor <br />MOU which would be in effect through December 31, 1993. The employees ratified the MOU at a meeting <br />on July 6, 1993. To become effective, the MOU must also be approved by Council. Below is a summary of <br />the new terms of the proposed MOU. <br />1. TERM - 1 year <br />2. SALARIES - no change <br />3. TUITION REIMBURSEMENT - increase annual maximum from $1000 to $1500 and books <br />reimbursement from 50% to 75%. <br />4. TERM LIFE INSURANCE - increase from $16,500 to $50,000. <br />5. SICK LEAVE PAYOFF - increase from 50% to 75% for employees taking service retirement after <br />20 years of service. <br />6. LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE - increase monthly base salary which maximum payments <br />of 66 2/3% of base salary are based on from $4500 to $6000 and change elimination period from 30 <br />days or the expiration of sick leave, whichever is later, to 30 days with no requirement to use all sick <br />leave before benefits begin. <br />7. CITY VEHICLE USE - no employee may take a City vehicle home if the distance is greater than 15 <br />miles one way. <br />0 <br />
