CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For Council Meeting of July 20, 1993
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: July 12, 1993
FROM: HELEN A. RAMOS, CMC
City Clerk
SUBJECT: Annual Assessments for Demolition Expenses
Background:
On August 4, 1992, the City Council heard and considered the report of the Building Official
for the expenses incurred as the result of demolition of certain unsound structures within the City
of Colton, commonly known as; 840 E. "G" Street, 1475 N. Redlands Avenue and 822 E.
Fairway. The City Council determined that the cost of demolitions would be payable in five
equal payments commencing with the 1992-93 Fiscal Year and that the assessment amounts
would be liens against the real property.
Discussion:
Placement of liens/special assessments, must be done on an annual basis by resolution. Staff
has prepared a resolution for the second annual assessment for the above noted real estate, to
be collected with the 1993-94 Fiscal Year Tax Rolls.
Fiscal Impact:
The assessments against the properties will continue to recover the costs incurred by the City
for the demolitions.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends adoption of the attached resolution.
City Manager's Concurrence:
1
N),
