CITY OF COLTON <br />COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM <br />JUNE 1, 1993 <br />.-tom o <br />`000rpora,a x <br />188 o <br />P 1 Olt <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: May 20, 1993 <br />FROM: JOHN HUTTON <br />INTERIM PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTORG' <br />SUBJECT: PUBLIC HEARING TO- APPROVE THE ANNUAL ENGINEERS REPORT AND TO <br />CONSIDER THE CONTINUED OPERATION OF THE LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE <br />DISTRICT NO. 1, CONFIRMING THE ASSESSMENTS AND ORDERING LEVY AND <br />COLLECTION OF SPECIFIC ASSESSMENTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1993-94. <br />BACKGROUND <br />On April 6, 1993 the city Council adopted Resolution No. R-20-93 ordering the <br />preparation of the Annual Engineer's Report and intent to set a Public <br />Hearing for protests related to the annual levying of assessments for the <br />Landscape Maintenance District No. 1. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City's consultant engineer has prepared the report for Fiscal Year 1993- <br />94. The report, in its entirety, is on file with the City Clerks Office.; An <br />excerpt of that report has been included as part of the agenda package. <br />Published Notice has been, given as required by Section 6061 of the Government <br />Code and record of this action is with the City Clerk Office. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />During the Fiscal Year of 1992-93 the assessed amount for the district <br />totaled $382,495. The proposed assessed amount for the upcoming fiscal year <br />of 1993-94 will be $299,692. The savings of $82,803 will beproportioned <br />throughout each benefit zone. By which reducing the assessed amount for zone <br />2 by 100, zone 4 by 46%, zone 5 by 21% and zone 8 by 30% <br />
