PARRISH, <br />Assistant to City Manager <br />FROM: JAMES KING <br />Engineering Specialists / <br />SUBJECT: Alley Vacation adjacent to Squires Lumber <br />In follow up to your request, this is a status report of the alley <br />vacation which was requested by Squires Lumber. <br />The tentative schedule for the alley vacation is as follows: <br />* The temporary encroachment permit issued for the fence <br />will expire on June 27,.93 <br />The Intent to Vacate" is tentatively schedule for the <br />May 1$, 93 Council meeting. <br />* Public Works will notifyand <br />publish notice in paper of <br />the up coming hearing for the vacation. <br />The " Public hearing for Vacation" is tentatively <br />schedule for the June 15, 93 Council meeting <br />The resolution ordering abandonment would be published <br />June 16, 93 <br />The alley Vacation should be complete and executed: before the <br />temporary encroachment permit expires. <br />As additional background information regarding this request for an <br />alley Vacation, staff has endeavor to work with both Mrs. Dorothy <br />Moran and Squires Lumber. The Staff issued a temporary encroachment <br />permit for the construction of a chainlink fence across the alley' <br />_. in an effort to help Squire lumber to protect the <br />Property against <br />theft. This <br />permit is only temporary and conditioned on obtaining <br />an alley vacation. If this condition is not met they would have to <br />take the fence down at this own expense. The vacation proceedings <br />will go through all the proper legal notifications All adjacent <br />property owner will be notified and have the opportunity to speak <br />for or against this vacation: <br />The issues that Mr. Don Gill brought, to Your <br />letter dated April 12, 1993.can be addressed at then is in his <br />public hearing. <br />cc John Hutton <br />
