ACEVEDO, Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Various Transformers <br />WESCO Utility in the Amount of $10,664 <br />to Date: June 8, 1993 <br />.02 <br />BACKGROUND <br />Utility transformers are ordered into Electric Stores inventory for <br />use on an as required basis. The quantity and sizes are projected by <br />the City's Electrical Engineer as plans are submitted for new <br />development and replacement transformers are needed. On May 20, 1993, <br />General Services advertised for sealed bids for some of these require- <br />ments. Bid opening was held at 4:00 p.m., Jun 7, 1993, in the General <br />Services office. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Four bids were received and evaluated. A Bid Analysis is attached <br />showing price and delivery quoted by each vendor. The recommended <br />vendor's price is underlined for each transformer. The total of <br />bid award is listed at the bottom for each vendor . so attached, is <br />Al <br />a Transformer Load Loss Evaluation, which was prepared on the computer. <br />Al <br />This evaluation shows the true cost of the transformer over its useful <br />lifetime, using a combination of load calculations supplied by the <br />transformer manufacturer and unit prices quoted by the _vendor. The <br />lowest evaluated cost for each transformer is underlined. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends bid award to WESCO Utility in the amount of $10,664.02. <br />Report Prepared by: Mary J.
