R-45-93 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, ENDORSING COUNTY -WIDE <br />STATE LEGISLATIVE PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, Governor Fete Wilson has proposed a State <br />budget for fiscalyear 1993-94 that would transfer 22 percent <br />of city property taxes to the State and <br />WHEREAS," such a reduction in local property tax <br />revenue would force cities to cut back essential police and <br />fire services, and <br />WHEREAS, such a reduction in local property tax <br />revenue would kill the incentive local governmentshaveto <br />attract job creating industry at a time when the State economy <br />desperately needs new industry, and <br />WHEREAS, the Governor has also proposed to transfer <br />an additional 27 percent of local redevelopment revenues to <br />the State, this at a time when every redevelopment dollar is <br />desperately needed to attract new industry to the State, and <br />WHEREAS, the cities of San Bernardino County desire <br />to join in common cause to oppose this attack on city <br />revenues. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of <br />the City of Colton, joins the other cities of San Bernardino <br />County in approving the following legislative priorities for <br />1993-94: <br />
