ACEV <br />Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid For Lease Purchase of Two Refuse Collection Vehicles to Engs Motor Truck Co. <br />in the Amount of $252,120.90. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Public Works Sanitation Division has two refuse collection vehicles in this years budget. On March 2, <br />1993, we advertised for quotations on this requirement. We also mailed out 20 bid packages to vendors who <br />have expressed an interest to be on our bidders list for refuse vehicles. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Bid opening was held at 2:30 P.M., April 1, 1993 in the General Services office. There were three bids <br />received on this requirement but, one bid did not have the required bid security and it was returned to the <br />vendor unopened and undeclared. A Bid Analysis is attached showing the total bid amount which is underlined <br />to indicate it is the recommended vendor's bid. There are also two other figures on the Bid Analysis form. <br />One figure shows the semi-annual payment required since this is the recommended approach for payment. The <br />other figure is the total cost of the two vehicles with the addition of the interest payment. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that bid award be made to Engs Motor Truck Co. in the amount of $252,120.90 payable in <br />10 semi-annual installments of $25,212.09. <br />Report prepared by Kenneth L.
