R4* -93 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON, AUTHORIZING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO <br />PROVIDE EMERGENCY PARAMEDIC AMBULANCE AND <br />TRANSPORTATION SERVICES AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER AND FIRE CHIEF TO TAKE NECESSARY <br />ACTION TO IMPLEMENT SUCH SERVICES <br />BE rr RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of Colton has given careful consideration to authorizing <br />the City's Fire Department to provide emergency paramedic ambulance and transportation <br />services to patients with needs originating within the City limits; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's Fire Department is frilly staffed with qualified personnel to <br />provide such emergency paramedic ambulance and transportation services in a professional, <br />competent and efficient manner, and <br />WHEREAS, the emergency paramedic ambulance and transportation services now <br />provided by the County of San Bernardino pursuaat to its Emergency Medical Services Plan <br />is unreasonably expensive for the services provided and otherwise inadequate to meet the <br />needs of the citizens of the City of Colton; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton is authorized to provide emergency paramedic <br />ambulance and transportation services to patients with needs originating within the City <br />limits pursuant to Government Code Sections 38794 and 54960, and pursuant to Health and <br />Safety Code Section 1797 Al aQ.; and <br />
