CITY OF COLTON <br />UTILITIES PLANS EXAMINER <br />Coordinates and assists in the review of residential, industrial <br />and commercial developments and prepares conditions of approval for <br />water and sewer lines and appurtenances; may assist in the <br />inspection of City water and sewer projects; updates water and <br />sewer maps; and performs related work as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br />Receives limited supervision from the Director. <br />May exercise functional and technical supervision over subordinate <br />sub -professional and technical staff. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, <br />the following: <br />Provides assistance to developers, contractors, builders, and the <br />public during the design and construction stages of a project to <br />discuss City requirements for the installation of water and sewer <br />services and pretreatment requirements. <br />Attends and participates in the City's Plan Check and Design Review <br />Committees. <br />Coordinates the plan check process with other City Departments. <br />Reviews plans for water and sewer service, checking water <br />distribution plans and sizes, sewer system and water service and <br />meter requirements. <br />Checks plans for irrigation and pretreatment requirements for <br />restaurants and commercial/industrial projects. <br />Prepares conditions for approval of plans. <br />Computes plan checking, water and sewer connection, and inspection <br />fees. <br />Prepares and maintains files on the plan check process. <br />Updates standard drawings and specifications and revises water and <br />sewer maps. <br />Conducts field inspections of sewer lateral connections from the <br />main line to the property line to ensure conformance with City <br />oc <br />
