CITY OF COLTON <br />TRAFFIC COMMITTEE <br />REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />APRIL 3, 1996 <br />The Meeting was called to order at 2:05 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT <br />Brian Baden, Public Works Dept. <br />Officer Ward, Police Dept. <br />Alan Sork, Fire Dept. <br />Andres Soto, Community Development <br />Jonathan Zane, Citizen <br />Randy Rivera, Public Works <br />John Fleming, RDA <br />Art Thompson, Citizen <br />Sherrie Guererro, City Manager's Office <br />OTHERS PRESENT <br />Councilmember Cook <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were not available. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />This request from Valley Builders Inc. to examine evidence of a previous residence for the <br />purpose of determining if this property complies with the requirements for the exemption as <br />�^ allowed in Ordinance 0-18-88. The request referred to building permit # 16575 and Mr. Baden <br />stated that there is an old foundation on the property. It was moved and seconded to allow that <br />this project conforms with the ordinance providing that a copy of the referenced permit is <br />provided and that it confirms the existence of a structure. The motion carried. <br />Request Rumble Buttons at Stonewood Village <br />This request from Councilmember Bennett concerning the entrances to and the Parksite at <br />Stonewood Village, which is assumed to identify the development project entrances on <br />Applewood St.,& Valleywood Sl. and the parksite on Smokewood St. The committee has <br />concems about the liability of installing these devices, mainly the slickness and the noise. It was <br />moved and seconded to send a memo, addressing these concems, to Councilmember Bennett, <br />the memo should also suggest that if the residents wish to proceed that it would be advisable to <br />obtain a written concurrence of the residents affected by this installation. The motion carried. <br />Request Left -tum Pocket on Cooley Drive <br />This request from Councilmember Bennett to provide a southbound left -tum pocket at the <br />entrance to the Stater Bros. Shopping Center. It was moved and seconded to table this item until <br />the next meeting to allow for a site visitation. The motion carried. <br />Request Flashing Yellow Light at Cooley Ranch Elementary School <br />This request from Councilmember Bennett. The committee agreed that the installation of a <br />flashing beacon could enhance the safety in a school zone. It was moved and seconded to <br />support this request. The motion carried. <br />NOTE: <br />Section 10-05.1 of the State of California Traffic Manual lists warrants for this type of <br />improvement. This item should be brought back to discuss this new information. <br />Item # 21 <br />
