26VXJ&-Z-17-
Memo
T« John C. Hutton. Public Works Director
From: James R. King, Engineering Specialist
CC: Reader file
Public
Works
Depart.
Engineering
Division
Dab= April 3, 1996
RN Interconnect Signals on Washington - All Red Clear function
4z;,
John, in responds to your question on if the signal interconnect system has the capability of having an
-All Red Clear' (3) second delay function, the answer is yes. In follow up with Roy Smith of Peek
Traffic, each signal has the capability of having the all red adjusted. The operation is simple to
perform, only involving sac buttons to make the change. The current cycle is set at (1) second, which
is the recommended setting. Roy indicated that the longer delay is usually designed for wider street L
s action, al!o w.ng for more time to the pedestrian crossiN.
It was suggested that alternatives be look at first, such as detector loop delays, before adjusting the all
red delay cycle. But if the City decided that this is what is needed, he recommends adjusting to a (2)
second delay.
If you should need additional information, please let me know.
• Page 1
D•K
pEca SFWSr
'T72 -Y o
7s oM
-eVALUP.?E A(=7
Ti M6 -
