AGENDA REPORT <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />For City Council Meeting of <br />June 4, 1996 <br />May 30, 1996 <br />TO: MAYOR FULP, CITY COUNCIL AND CITY MANAGER <br />FROM: Julie Hayward Biggs, City Attom <br />SUBJECT: Amendment of Colton Municipal Cole Chapter 6.16/Refuse <br />Attached is an urgency ordinance that if adopted will amend Chapter 6.16 which <br />establishes standards and procedures for refuse collection, removal and disposal within the City. <br />This matter is being brought to the City Council as an urgency ordinance because the changes <br />that are established must be in effect on July 1, 1996 in order for the contract that has now been <br />entered into with Taormina Industries, Inc. to be valid under the Colton Municipal Code. These <br />changes could not be brought before the City Council until the contract terms were finalized with <br />Taormina and the contract was in fact signed. Unless this matter is handled on an urgency <br />basis, two readings of the ordinance amending Chapter 6.16 would be necessary and <br />implementation of the July 1, 1996 start date for Taormina would need to be delayed. <br />1000T.WMA, <br />
