Readings of Separate Meters Not Combined <br />For the purpose of computing charges, each meter upon the Customer's Premises <br />shall be considered separately, and readings of two or more meters shall not <br />be combined as equivalent to measurement through one meter, except as may be <br />authorized by the Utility. <br />D. Time and Manner of Paying Bills <br />Residential bills are due and payable upon presentation. Twenty (20) days <br />after mailing, a delinquent notice will be sent. Thirteen (13) days <br />thereafter, a door tag will be placed and service may be disconnected forty- <br />eight (48) hours thereafter. If payment is not received, a late fee may be <br />assessed. <br />General Services bills are due and payable upon presentation. Twenty (20) <br />days after a delinquent notice will be sent. Ten (10) days thereafter, <br />service is discontinued. <br />E. Third Party Notification <br />Residential Customers who are sixty-five (65) years of age or older, or who <br />are dependent adults as defined in paragraph (1) of subdivision (b) of Section <br />15610 of the State Welfare and Institutions'Code are eligible to receive third <br />party notification service. Third party notification service means that the <br />Utility will attempt to notify a person designated by the Customer to receive <br />notification when the Customer's account is past due and subject to <br />termination. The notification will include information on what is required to <br />prevent termination of service. In order for the eligible Residential <br />Customers to receive third party notification service, the Customer must <br />complete and Application provided by the Utility and shall include the written <br />consent of the designated third party. The third party notification does not <br />obligate the third party to pay the overdue charges, nor shall the <br />notification prevent of delay termination of service. <br />F. Late Charges <br />Per Section 3.38.020 of City Ordinance 0-07-96 adopted May 7, 1996, utility <br />billings which are not paid within thirty days after the same becomes due and <br />payable to the City are deemed a delinquent accounts receivable. Any person <br />obligated to pay a delinquent account receivable to the City shall also pay a <br />late charge; a sum equal to ten percent of the delinquent accounts receivable <br />may be collected. The late charge of ten percent will continue to be charged <br />on delinquent accounts that remains unpaid each month. The late charge shall <br />continue for every thirty days thereafter whereby such delinquent accounts <br />receivable remains unpaid. <br />G. Reduction For Early Payments On Accounts Receivable <br />Per Section 3.38.030 of City Ordinance 0-07-96 adopted May 7, 1996, utility <br />charges which are paid within five working days after the billing date and <br />have been received in the City's Office, shall be eligible for an early <br />payment reduction. Any qualifying early payment on an account receivable to <br />the City for the full amount due, shall receive a reduction equal to two <br />percent of the billed accounts receivable, and that amount will be deducted <br />from the balance due. Any reduction allowed for "early" payment on an account <br />receivable will be deemed void, if the method of payment, in whole or in part, <br />is invalidated in any form. <br />ISSUED BY <br />Thomas K.
