R-1.14-96 <br />)U,NCIL OF THE CITYOF COTTON ACC:Ef'UNKI A <br />TEIRACY PROGRAIM TRANSITION GRANT IN THE <br />DING THE ADOPTED BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the <br />community and <br />WIIEREAS, the Colton Public Lil <br />of Colton is dedicated to building a more literate <br />s 'Advance to Literacy" reading program has <br />served the educational needs of more. than 800 Galton residents; and <br />WHEREAS, a continuing need exists to augment the current literacy program at the Luque. <br />Branch Library, which involves volunteer tutors and adult lei niers in activities that promote <br />parents and their children reading together; and <br />WHERE -AS, the Colton Public Library is eligible to accept $24,860 in additional literacy <br />staid funding fi)r I -Y 96-97 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Colton <br />accept. a California State Library Literacy Program Transition Grant in the amount of $24,860 <br />and amead the adopted Budget for the Fiscal Year, of 1996-1997 in the following rnanner: <br />LiHR RY jRANT REVENUE <br />Literacy Pcikgram Transition Grant +S24,860 <br />Literacy Program Transition Grant <br />PASSED; APPROVED, r1\D <br />ATTEST: <br />TERESA S.
