R-30-97 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON IDENTIFYING THE CENSUS TRACTS COMPRISING A <br />"TARGETED EMPLOYMENT AREA" FOR THE AGUA MANSA <br />ENTERPRISE ZONE <br />WHEREAS, in 1985 the Agua Mansa Enterprise Zone was established <br />°n the City of Colton pursuant to the Enterprise Zone Act <br />(Government Code §7070 et. seq.) as adopted by the State of <br />alifornia in 1984, and <br />WHEREAS, in 1996 by Senate Bill No. 2023, the State revised the <br />nterprise Zone Act to provide commencing on January 1, 1997, among <br />ther things, for the establishment of "targeted employment areas," <br />omposed of census tracts having at least 51% of its residents at <br />ow- or moderate -income levels, with the purpose of encouraging <br />usinesses in an enterprise zone to hire eligible residents of <br />hose geographic <br />areas of the <br />city most <br />in need of employment <br />argeting; and <br />WHEREAS, the <br />Enterprise Zone <br />Act as thus <br />revised allows the City <br />ouncil of the City <br />of Colton to <br />designate <br />those census tracts in <br />he most need of <br />this employment <br />targeting. <br />NOW THERFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br />BY THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />TON AS FOLLOWS: <br />1.. The following census tracts, lying whole or partly within <br />he territorial jurisdiction of the City of Colton have been <br />esignated by the United States Department of Housing and Urban <br />evelopment as having at least 51% of their residents of low and <br />oderate—income levels, and are hereby identified as those census <br />racts which are in the most need of employment targeting pursuant <br />
