CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF AUGUST 5, 1997 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: GRACIE FERNANDEZ HARMON, ACTING CITY MANAGE <br />FROM: GRACIE FERNANDEZ HARMON, PERSONNEL DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: RATIFICATION OF EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT TO THE PART-TIMM <br />POSITIONS (3) OF POLICE CADET IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: JULY 21, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND: There are three (3) vacant Police Cadet positions in the Police Department. <br />Attached is the job description for the classification; the hourly rate is $5.25. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position was conducted and an eligibility list <br />established. The candidates being referred for Council ratification meet the education and experience <br />requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. <br />FUNDING AVAH-ABILITY: Two (2) vacancies are general fund positions and one (1) vacancy is <br />a grant funded position in the fiscal year 1997-98 budget funded as follows: Account No. 100-6070- <br />.6080-1040,(salaries - to orary) and Account No. 100-6070-6086-1040 (salaries - temporary). <br />Be and O. sfor , Police Chief <br />MISSION CRITICAL: This position is required to maintain effective operations in the Police <br />Department. <br />EXPECTED FILL DATE: August 6, 1997. <br />RECOMMENDATION: That City Council ratify the employee appointment to the part-time <br />positions (3) of Police Cadet as recommended by the Police Chief. <br />Attachment: Job Description <br />Prepared by: Arleen F.
