RESOLUTION NO. R-14 -97 DUPMAUE <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON, AFFIRMING SUPPORT OF THE SOUTHERN <br />CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS <br />GENERAL ASSEMBLY RELATING TO THE RECOVERY <br />OF FUNDS BY CITIES OF MONIES TAKEN BY THE STATE <br />OF CALIFORNIA OVER THE PAST FIVE YEARS. <br />WHEREAS, over the past several years, cities have experienced loss of revenue <br />due to the State of California and <br />WHEREAS, cities have always been excellent guardians of the taxpayers <br />money and have spent them wisely; and <br />WHEREAS, cities now find themselves having to assess fees and charges to <br />make up for revenues that have been taken by the State of California; and <br />WHEREAS, those monies should duly be coming to the cities of California. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of <br />Colton does affirm its support of the Southern California Association of Governments <br />General Assembly that all monies taken from cities over the past five years be <br />returned to the cities forthwith in this Legislative session, and may it be further <br />resolved that those monies should come back with interest. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 18`h day of February 1997. <br />ATTEST: <br />Carolina P.
