A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br />Experience: <br />Equivalent to completion of high school. <br />Training: <br />One year of clerical experience involving public contact. <br />Police Dispatcher H <br />In addition to the qualifications for Police Dispatcher L• <br />Knowledge of: <br />• Department procedures and policies, and those of other agencies. <br />• Computer commands used on a computer terminal. <br />Ability to: <br />• Follow standard broadcasting rules and procedures. <br />• Utilize a wide variety of computer codes and commands. <br />• Exercise independent judgment and work with a minimum of supervision. <br />• Operate a computer terminal and other office equipment quickly and accurately. <br />• Dispatch police units quickly and effectively. <br />Experience and Training: <br />Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge <br />and abilities is qualifying.
