CITY OF COLTON INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM Office of the City Attorney TO: Mayor, City Counciimembers, City Manager FROM: Julie Hayward Biggs, City Att SUBJECT: Travel Policy DATE: May 5, 1997 It was my understanding that the Council directed that a travel policy resolution be prepared incorporating the matters outlined by Councilmember Sandoval in his memorandum' to the City Council presented on April 15, 1997. I also understood that the dollar amount suggested as the threshold for review by the City Council was to be $1,000 rather than the $2,500 originally suggested by Councilmember Sandoval. Accordingly, I prepared the attached agenda report and resolution for inclusion in this week's agenda packet. When this material went out for comment, however, there appeared to be some differing thoughts about the matter. Specifically, recollections varied as to the dollar amount involved and as to whether the matter was to come back to the City Council. The matter was pulled from the Agenda on Thursday for further review. In view of the fact that the resolution has been, prepared, I thought it might be appropriate to have the Council look at the language of that resolution now and provide me with comments and changes that the Council wishes to see included in the resolution when it comes back to the Council for action. After you have reviewed the draft resolution, please forward your comments to me so that a final resolution may be prepared.
