CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For the Council Meeting of June 17, 1997 <br />To: Honorable Mayor & City Council <br />Approval: Gracie Fernandez Harmon, Acting City Manager <br />From: Randy Anstine, Neighborhood Services Direc r/ <br />Subject: Ratification of Employee Appointment to the Part -Time <br />Positions of Senior Lifeguard (6) and Lifeguard (6) <br />in the Neighborhood Services Department <br />Date: June 10, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />There presently exists six (6) vacant part-time, seasonal Lifeguard positions, and six (6) <br />vacant part-time seasonal Senior Lifeguard positions in the Neighborhood Services <br />Department. Attached are the job descriptions for the classifications; the salary is $6.25 <br />per hour for Lifeguard ;and $10 per hour for Senior Lifeguard. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Recruitment for said positions was conducted. The candidates being referred for Council <br />ratification meet the education, qualification and experience requirements as specified <br />in the job descriptions. <br />FUNDING AVAILABILITY: <br />The positions are funded through the General Fund for the 1996-97 fiscal year as <br />follows: Account No. 100-6 0.6 03-1040 (salaries temporary). <br />Randy Anstine, b1frector <br />MISSION CRITICAL: These positions are required as a condition of our annual public <br />pool operation. These individuals are directly responsible for the supervision and safety <br />of all pool participants. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />That the City Council ratify the employee appointments to the part-time positions of <br />Lifeguard and Senior Lifeguard as recommended by the Neighborhood Services Director. <br />Attachment: Job Descriptions - - <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />Item N®o 4 <br />
