1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />RESOLUTION NO. _g-51-97 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS <br />LIMIT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1997-98 <br />WHEREAS, the voters of California, on November 6, <br />1979, added Article XIII -B to the State Constitution placing various <br />limitations on the appropriations of the state and local governments; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII -B provides that the <br />appropriations limit for the fiscal year 1997-98 is calculated by adjusting <br />the base year appropriations of fiscal year 1978-79 for changes in the cost <br />of living and population; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton has complied with all the <br />provisions of Article XIII -B in determining the appropriations limit for fiscal <br />year 1997/98; and <br />WHEREAS, The City of Colton must make the <br />necessary determinations regarding the use of a' cost -of -living index <br />change and the population index change beginning in fiscal year 1997-98. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the <br />appropriations subject to limitation in fiscal year 1997-98 shall be <br />$29,789,066 for the City of Colton, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, <br />that for fiscal year 1997-98, the City of Colton selects the California <br />percentage change in per capita income as its cost -of -living index <br />change as determined by the California State Department of Finance and <br />that henceforth the City of Colton selects the population index change for <br />Item No. <br />
