Waste Management <br />Committee is to evaluate and make recommendation regarding the City's waste management projects, <br />management practices, and proposals and services. <br />Mission Statement: Provide recommendations to City Council regarding existing waste management <br />practices. <br />Goals and Objectives: <br />I. Review contracts enacted in order to identify items which appear to be in conflict with <br />requirements of the proposed legislative changes to the extent necessary. <br />2. Identify provisions of the contract(s) for which implementing legislation has not yet been <br />enacted and propose legislation to the extent necessary. <br />3. Review the repeated and particular concerns that have been raised with respect to damages, <br />liability, contract compliance, contract non-compliance. <br />4. Review the effectiveness of contract(s) that are pending. <br />5. Review existing waste hauling contracts to determine compliance and corrective action plans <br />and/or enforcement provisions. <br />6. Examine merits of expanding the existing landfill operation. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Recommend the Solid Waste Management Committee consist of seven (7) members with <br />Councilmember David Sandoval serving as one of the seven members, as follows: <br />• 1 Colton Councilmember <br />• 1 San Bernardino County Representative <br />• 1 Taormina Industries Representative <br />• 2 Colton Business.
