Vega, Finance Direcfor <br />�UBJECT: Resolu#ion Adopting the 1997-98 �iscal Year <br />Budget <br />DATE: June�18, 't997 <br />BACKGR�UND <br />On May 29, 1997 staff provided copies of the 1997-98 fiscaf year budget fo the <br />City Council. Those documents consisted of a program budget and a(ine item <br />operational budget with detail. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />On June 3, 1997 Council made a motion to set aside $600,000 of general fund <br />Utility Users'Tax for a salary compensation fund. Staff presented ta the City <br />Council five aptions on how this cou[d be accomplished on June 17, 1997. The <br />City Council selected option no. 5, which has been incorporated into the revised <br />budget being presented. (Exhibi#'A') Staff is prepared ta answer any questions <br />}rou may have. <br />F(NANCIAL IMPACT <br />The budget message addresses the 1997-98 financia! impacts. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve the attached resolutian adopting the budget for fiscal year commencing <br />July 1, 1997 and ending on June 30, 1998 as presented on Exhibit `A'. <br />, <br />Item No. 1 <br />. � - � , __ . . ___ _ ,. , ._� <br />
