CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF MARCH 4,1997 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: MALIK DANTALA FREEMAN, CITY MANAG ,, — <br />FROM: GRACIE FERNANDEZ HARMON, PERSONNEL DIRECTO <br />SUBJECT: RATIFICATION OF EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT TO THE FULL -T M E <br />POSITIONS (2) OF FIREFIGHTER SPECIALIST IN THE FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: FEBRUARY 20,1997 <br />BACKGROUND: There are two (2) vacant Firefighter Specialist positions in the Fire Department. <br />Attached is the job description for the classification; salary range is $2,708- $3,293 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position was conducted in coordination with four <br />other local agencies. Practical examinations were held by the Regional Fire Training Center at <br />Crafton Hills College. Written examinations were administered by the City of San Bernardino and an <br />eligibility list established. The candidates being referred for Council ratification meet the education <br />and experience requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: These are general fund positions and are funded in the 1996-97 fiscal year <br />as follows: Account No. 100-6090-6091-1010 (salary) and Account No, 100-6090-6091-1100 <br />(salary related benefits). <br />Thomas T.
