R-26-97 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF COLTON RELATING TO CITY <br />EMPLOYEE TRAVEL POLICY <br />WHEREAS, individuals currently employed by the City as well as those seeking <br />I employment within the City sometimes need to attend educational and business development <br />meetings and conferences outside the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council encourages employees and elected officials to take part <br />in regional meetings and conferences that pertain to the management and policies of the City of <br />Colton; and <br />WHEREAS, to assure that attendance at such meetings and conferences is consistent <br />with the interests of the City and of benefit to employees, elected officials and the City itself, <br />it is important that the City Council be informed of proposed travel by City employees in <br />advance and that such travel be approved by the City Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON HEREBY <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Any request for travel time and expenses in excess of $100 for travel <br />outside the City on City related business or for educational purposes must be approved in <br />advance by the City Council. <br />SECTION 3. This travel policy shall remain in effect until further action of the City <br />Council taken in the form of adoption of a resolution which by its express terms specifically I <br />rescinds the policy imposed by this Resolution. Adoption of a general budget resolution by the <br />
